St Minver Silver Band

St Minver Silver Band

The St. Minver Silver Band formed in 1910 originally as the Tre, Pol and Pen Brass Band and by 1919 had become the St. Minver Brass Band.
From 1928 the band was known as the St. Minver Silver Band. Today the band continue to entertain audiences throughout the year at a variety of local events and concerts.

St Minver Cricket Club

St Minver Cricket Club is located in the small village of St Minver, North Cornwall.

We have two adult cricket teams, in Divisions 1 and 4 East; two junior teams at Under11 and Under 15 age groups.

We have excellent facilities; including a well-stocked bar, pool table and dart boards.

We have recently upgraded our changing rooms and added a digital scoreboard and new covers. Next on the list is new training nets. Please contact us if you’re able to help with our costs in the form of sponsorship.

St Minver Link

First published in 1981, The Link magazine is a high-quality, not-for-profit community magazine covering the area to the East of the Camel Estuary on the North Cornish coast. This includes the coastal villages of Polzeath, Rock, St Minver, Trebetherick, Tredrizzick and the market town of Wadebridge. 

Since its first publication, 40 years ago, the magazine has enjoyed considerable community support and has gone from strength to strength. The Link is now a quarterly full colour publication of some 70 to 80 pages.  

St Enodoc Church

North Cornwall Cluster of Churches

The North Cornwall Cluster includes the churches of St Enodoc, St Michael’s at Porthilly and St Minver.
In the cluster, there are also the churches of St Endellion, St James the Great at St Kew and St Peter’s in Port Isaac.

These are historic and beautiful churches in one of the most beautiful and sought after parts of Cornwall, and many visitors sense that in entering them – coming in off the beach or golf course, or having stopped at a local inn or just paused for a moment’s peace on holiday – that they have chanced upon holy ground.

Perceval Institute

The Perceval Institute

The Perceval Institute have successfully provided facilities for the local community of all ages, from the under fives to the over seventies.

The Institute, built in 1895, is located at the heart of the village. It is a separate self-supporting charity created in 1999 and the Parochial Church Council (PCC) is named as the managing trustee.

In 2018 a secure section of the building was let for use as a Sub Post Office. Apart from the off-street parking, the Institute enjoys its own private car parking at the rear.

It is in reality, the Village Hall and has always enjoyed considerable community support from its very inception.

Polzeath Marine Centre

Polzeath Marine Conservation Group

We are a volunteering organisation that is passionate about protecting and conserving the marine environment of Polzeath.

PMCG provides educational events for schools and the public, manages surveys of our shoreline, organises educational activities and provides information to prevent pollution that can be damaging to our marine life and, above all get you involved with the marine environment.

Polzeath Surf Life Saving Club

Polzeath Surf Life Saving Club. Surf Life Saving is one of the fastest growing sports in Cornwall and here at Polzeath we provide training for children aged 7 upwards and adults in all the surf life saving techniques.

Many of our members compete in Surf Life Saving competitions here in the UK and abroad and some even go on to become lifeguards.

However, all our members gain a skill for life – the knowledge of how to be safe in the water – and along the way have a lot of fun and make a lot of friends. Polzeath Surf Life Saving Club is affiliated with SLSGB and Surf Life Saving Cornwall. The club is a registered charity – Registered Charity Number: 1044042

Rock Institute

Rock Institute

The Rock Institute is a building in Rock, Cornwall that is available for rent for events of all kinds such as birthday parties, discos, meetings and business conferences.

A car park is located along the side of the building and provides space for up to 20 cars.

Rock Lifeboat Station

Rock Lifeboat Station

Situated on the Camel estuary, the RNLI has operated a lifeboat station at Rock since 1988. Today’s D class lifeboat is a re-engineered and updated version of the original D class.

Rock Sailing and Waterski Club

Nestled in the heart of Rock, our club offers a water-based haven like no other, surrounded by stunning scenery and unbeatable conditions.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Camel Estuary, our club provides a spectacular setting for sailors of all skill levels. For the Waterskiing enthusiast, the club has extensive equipment and an unrivalled location in which to enjoy the sport, be it learning, competitive, or just for fun.

John Betjeman centre

Concern Wadebridge is an independent charity for the over 50’s. It is based at The John Betjeman Centre which has developed into a community hub for all ages. The charity and the centre provides a variety of activities including exercise classes, support groups and has a community café for people to come and have a natter.

Concern Wadebridge also hires out mobility scooters and wheelchairs for short and long term hire. 

The building is full of local history as it was the old railway station and houses John Betjeman memorabilia.
