Neighbourhood Policing

Bodmin Police Office

Rock,Polzeath and Port Isaac make up one third of the Neighbourhood Policing area of the Wadebridge sector. These areas are policed by the beat manager, supported by a PCSO. These areas also include the areas of St.Kew, Chapel Amble, St.Minver, Port Quin and St.Endellion.

These areas contain primary schools at St.Minver, Port Isaac and St.Kew.

This neighbourhood area, like the other areas in the Wadebridge sector are and continue to be one of the safest places in Cornwall and England to live. Recorded crime has dropped dramatically over the past few years however the perception and fear of crime remains fairly high.

The areas of Rock and Polzeath contain a high number of second homes, which at times are vulnerable to burglary. However through close engagement with partners and strenous efforts by the local team reports of burglary are low.

Reports of anti social behaviour are also low but obviously increase during the summer months. Polzeath still remains a favoured “haunt” for public school children.

The neighbourhood officers continue enjoy very good working relationships with partners such as parish councils and residents associations. These partnerships ensure that reports of crime are kept low.
